2007 Winner Interview

2007 Winner

The Stones by Ana Lily Armirpour

Ana Lily Armirpour interviewed by BlueCat Founder Gordy Hoffman

Lily talks of her life before screenwriting and how she came to the story of the award-winning screenplay, THE STONES.

Lily Amirpour was born in England and came to live in America at the age of 6. She was making movies at the age of 12 when her father brought home a camcorder, her first film a short horror movie starring the guests of an 8th grade slumber party. She graduated with a BA in Painting and Sculpting, and eventually abandoned studio art in favor of writing screenplays and making movies full-time.

Lily was also the bass player and singer for the indie-rock trio Flut, who released a full-length album and toured nationally, their music is available on i-tunes.

She currently lives in Los Angeles, and is working on her MFA in screenwriting at UCLA.

She will direct her winning script, THE STONES next summer 2008.
