Can I submit a screenplay under a pen name?

Yes.


Does my script have to be registered?

No. We do recommend registering your work with the WGA and/or the Library of Congress Copyright office.


Does the writer maintain rights to the screenplay?

Yes.


Do I need to submit a logline? Synopsis?

No.


Do you accept short screenplays?

No.


What's the minimum/maximum required page length?

80 - 145 pages.


What genres do you accept?

We accept and welcome all genres.


If submitted electronically, does my script get read on the computer screen or is it printed out?

Due to environmental concerns, electronic entries are not printed on paper.


How can you guarantee a script is even read and given an equal shot?

All entrants receive a one-page analysis of their script.


What elements of the script are taken into consideration during the judging?

Story, Characterization, Dialogue, Description, Clarity, and Originality.

When will I receive my script analysis?

* Scripts submitted by December 1st will receive their written analysis by January 5th. Scripts submitted by January 2nd will receive their analysis by February 1st. Screenplays submitted after January 2nd will receive their analysis July 1-15th.

* Scripts which receive early analysis are eligible to resubmit by our late deadline of April 1st at the reduced fee of $35.

* Quarter Finalists will be announced June 15th. Semi Finalists will be announced July 15th. Five Finalists will be announced July 23rd. The Winner will be announced August 1st, 2009.



REGULAR DEADLINE: Screenplays submitted after January 5th will receive their analysis July 1-15th.


What forms of payment do you accept?

Credit Card, Personal Check, Cashier's Check, US Money Order.


I don't live in the United States, am I still eligible?

Yes.


Is an adaptation of a published novel (by somebody else) eligible?

You must have the legal rights to adapt the book to enter your screenplay.


Can I make a change to a submission? In a rush to get the material in, I uploaded the wrong version of the script? Is there any way I can resend the proper version?

If you contact us within 24 hours of the original upload, we will allow you to submit your revision. After 24 hours, you will not be able to make any changes.
